RAW Charging is proud to announce that its destination charging scheme at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has helped the iconic theme park secure the top spot in Vauxhall’s ranking of the UK’s best family attractions for electric vehicle (EV) drivers.

Highlights

• LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has been named the UK’s top family attraction for EV drivers by Vauxhall, with the ranking supported by the scale and quality of the on-site charging infrastructure.

• A total of 38 charging bays has been installed at the resort: 24 at the theme park, 10 at the guest hotel, and 4 in the staff car park.

• The partnership with Merlin Entertainments currently includes EV charging facilities at five of the UK’s most visited attractions, with further expansion planned to meet growing demand.

• The destination charging network continues to grow, supporting sustainable travel and enhancing the visitor experience at leading UK locations.

This recognition reflects the company’s commitment to Connecting Amazing Places - delivering reliable, accessible EV charging infrastructure at the UK’s most popular destinations. The installation at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort includes 38 charging bays: 24 at the theme park, 10 at the guest hotel, and 4 in the staff car park. These facilities offer contactless payment and provide a full charge in 4–6 hours, allowing families to recharge their vehicles while enjoying their visit.

Vauxhall’s ranking was based on several criteria, including the availability of on-site EV charging, the number of fast and rapid charge points within a one- and five-mile radius, and accessibility from the UK’s 15 most populated cities. LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort emerged as the top destination for EV drivers, thanks in large part to the scale and quality of the infrastructure installed.

The installation is part of an exclusive partnership with Merlin Entertainments, which includes EV charging facilities at five of the UK’s leading attractions: LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, and Warwick Castle. Across these sites, 90 charging bays have already been delivered, with further expansion planned in 2026 to meet growing demand as the UK moves toward its 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles.

Beyond Merlin Entertainments, the destination network extends to other iconic locations, including National Trust properties, McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, and Exclusive Hotels. These partnerships support the broader goal of making sustainable travel more convenient and accessible across the UK.

With over 2.4 million visitors to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort in 2022—most arriving by car - the charging infrastructure is helping families make the switch to electric vehicles with confidence. The installation supports shared sustainability goals, reducing carbon emissions and contributing to the UK’s transition to greener transport.
