Aberdeen’s Largest Ultra‑Rapid EV Charging Hub Opens on Palmerston Road

A new 14‑bay RAW ultra‑rapid EV charging hub is now live on Palmerston Road in the heart of Aberdeen. Designed around the needs of local drivers, the hub brings rapid and convenient charging to the city centre, making it an ideal stop for a quick top‑up during everyday journeys.

Highlights

• 14 new charging bays, comprising 10 x 150kW ultra‑rapid bays and 4 x 300kW ultra‑rapid bays, including two dedicated priority bays.
• Located on Palmerston Road, in the city centre, with easy access for local drivers doing everyday errands and for those passing through on the way in or out of Aberdeen.
• Delivered in partnership with Hubber, supporting EV drivers across Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
• Free charging launch week: To celebrate the opening, drivers can charge for free at the hub via RAW Rewards on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 October, giving local drivers a no‑risk way to try the hub for the first time.
• Free hot drink offer: Drivers charging between 9am and 2pm will also receive a free hot drink voucher for Sweet Mumma’s Kitchen, located just across the road.

Powering Aberdeen’s Transition to Electric Vehicles

The Aberdeen hub brings high‑power, reliable charging to a central city location, with a mix of bays designed to suit different charging needs, from a quick top‑up to a fuller charge during a short dwell time. Its Palmerston Road location makes it convenient for local residents, city‑centre visitors and drivers travelling through Aberdeen.

With 150kW and 300kW bays available, drivers can add significant range in minutes rather than hours, offering a faster and more reliable option for those currently relying on slower on‑street or older public chargers. The hub also provides a useful alternative for the city’s many drivers without off‑street parking at home.

The chargers are designed to be straightforward to use, with contactless payment, compatibility with major EV charging apps and 24/7 support. Drivers can also unlock exclusive benefits and free charging during launch week through RAW Rewards.

The launch comes as demand for public charging continues to grow. Zero‑emission cars made up a record 30% of new UK car registrations in June 2026, while Scotland now has one of the largest concentrations of rapid and ultra‑rapid chargers in the UK, behind only Greater London and the South East. As more drivers make the switch to electric, convenient, well‑located charging is becoming increasingly important.

The site builds on a growing partnership with Hubber and further expands the UK network, which now spans more than 500 sites.

RAW has also been recognised with Zapmap’s Best Destination Network Award for 2026 and ICC Gold accreditation, reflecting a focus on reliable, accessible charging across the UK’s leading leisure, retail and hospitality destinations.
