A new ultra-rapid destination for the Black Country
Zero-emission cars accounted for a record 30% of new UK car registrations in June 2026. As adoption accelerates, drivers increasingly want charging that is fast, reliable and easy to fit around their day.
The new hub also arrives as Sandwell continues to invest in its future. Sandwell Council is progressing a £3 billion regeneration programme to transform housing, transport and energy across the borough, including a £20 million investment in Tipton town centre. This includes major works on Owen Street to create safer streets, improved crossings and a more attractive environment, with the aim of encouraging investment and increasing visitor numbers. The new ultra-rapid hub adds another piece of modern infrastructure to an area already investing in its long-term growth.
The Dudley site is the latest ultra-rapid hub, bringing high-power charging to drivers across Tipton and the wider Black Country.
With 150kW and 300kW bays on offer, drivers can add significant range in minutes rather than hours, providing a meaningful step up in speed for those used to slower chargers and a practical option for local drivers without off-street parking at home.

The opening further expands the nationwide network, which now spans more than 500 sites across the UK. Through partnerships with major destinations already in the local area such as Bentley Bridge and Leamington Spa, the network includes more than 2,500 EV charging bays at some of the UK’s most visited destinations.
A seamless experience for drivers
The chargers at Dudley are designed to make charging straightforward, offering contactless payment, high-speed charging and 24/7 customer support.
Drivers can also charge for free by signing up to RAW Rewards.
RAW is committed to excellence and has been recognised by Zapmap as the Best Destination Network Award for 2026, as well as ICC Gold accreditation, further reinforcing its position as an EV charging partner of choice for the UK’s leading leisure, retail and hospitality destinations.

Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging, said:
“We’re delighted to bring a new ultra-rapid charging hub to Dudley, giving drivers across Tipton and the Black Country access to charging speeds of up to 300kW. Our Rapid Hubs are designed to make charging easier to fit into people’s everyday journeys, with rapid, reliable charging in convenient locations.
To celebrate the launch, we are offering free charging and coffee on site through RAW Rewards. We are also pleased to be working with BYD to bring electric vehicles to the event, giving drivers the opportunity to experience the latest EV technology first-hand. Together, these initiatives underline our wider mission to make EV charging genuinely accessible for the people who need it most.”
“This launch is another step forward in our mission to make ultra-rapid EV charging more accessible for all drivers across the UK.”
Harry Fox, CEO & Co-Founder, Hubber, said:
“This is a landmark EV charging site for the Black Country and we were delighted to partner with a top-tier operator like RAW to bring it to life. Securing a large grid connection and transforming an underused site into a dedicated, purpose-built high-powered hub is exactly what Hubber does best: delivering the vital urban infrastructure our cities and towns need as more drivers without home charging make the switch to electric. Mass-market adoption needs hubs like this, not chargers in ones and twos."
