50p EV charging at Greene King pubs for the whole World Cup

Electric car drivers are set to benefit from a flat 50p per kWh at Greene King pubs for the whole of the World Cup, giving match-going pub visitors the chance to charge for less while backing their local this summer.

Available at Greene King pubs with rapid and ultra rapid EV chargepoints operated by RAW Charging, the offer runs from 5pm on the day of England’s opening match against Croatia on Wednesday 17th June through to the final on Sunday 19th July, as the chargepoint operator seeks to support the pub trade.

With ultra-rapid charging normally costing up to 79p per kWh at some sites, drivers will be able to pay a flat 50p per kWh across participating Greene King locations, including DC rapid and ultra-rapid charging, offering a saving of up to 35% throughout the tournament.

The offer comes at an important time for the pub trade, with industry figures putting pub closures at around one a day through 2025. With the World Cup expected to bring people together in pubs across June and July, the 50p charging offer has been designed to give EV drivers another reason to make their Greene King local the match-day base.

Commenting on the World Cup offer, Jason Simpson, chief executive of RAW Charging, which operates 206 chargepoints at Greene King sites, said:
“The pub is likely to be at the heart of a World Cup summer, and with our locals having had a tough time of it lately, we wanted to do something that supports drivers and pubs at the same time. By offering the chance to charge for 50p per kWh at their Greene King local while settling in for the football, we’re hoping to encourage more people to get behind their local and help drive a bumper summer for pubs.”

He added:
“With RAW having invested significantly in upgrading the Greene King network, there’s now plenty of rapid charging opportunity on offer, making it even easier for drivers to plug in, watch the match and make the most of their visit.”

The 50p offer runs until Sunday 19th July 2026 at participating Greene King pubs, which covers 39 DC rapid and ultra rapid sites, exclusively to RAW Rewards members.
