Half price EV charging & free coffee on offer at Etruria Mills to mark Stoke-on-Trent Day
Posted on Tuesday, Jun 2, 2026
Electric vehicle drivers in Stoke-on-Trent will be able to charge their cars for half price on Friday 5th June – as RAW Charging celebrates Stoke-on-Trent Day, with a free Costa Coffee also thrown in.
Stoke-on-Trent Day was first held in 2025 to mark the centenary of the city being granted city status and now returns as an annual celebration of its heritage, communities and future. The EV charging initiative is designed to give sustainably-minded residents a tangible benefit on the day, while demonstrating how charging is becoming part of everyday city life rather than a convenience reserved for long-distance journeys.
And with the chargepoint sitting next to Costa Coffee, those who take up the half price charging offer will also be gifted a £5 Costa Coffee voucher so they can enjoy a free coffee, whilst they charge.

The timing coincides with Stoke-on-Trent City Council's recently published Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy, which records 2,600 EVs currently registered locally and projects that a quarter of all cars on the city's roads will be electric by 2030 - with the public charging network set to grow from 115 sites to more than 800 within five years.
Located at Etruria Mills, the Stoke-on-Trent hub provides rapid charging for drivers visiting, working or travelling through the area.
Commenting on the offer, Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging said:
"Stoke-on-Trent Day is a chance for the city to come together and we wanted to mark it in a way that gives something back. Half price charging is a practical way to do that, giving local EV drivers a reason to come out, plug in and enjoy everything the area has to offer.”
He added:
"There's still a perception that public charging is something you do on a motorway, in a hurry. Etruria Mills, however, is right in the middle of the city, making it easy and convenient for drivers to use when they’re in Stoke and actively contributing to the community – something that makes celebrating the city with discounted charging offer all the more important. And with 2,600 EVs already on Stoke's roads and that number growing fast, access to appropriate EV infrastructure is becoming all the more essential."

Declan Riddell, Stafford Chamber Manager at Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce, echoed the need for sufficient infrastructure in Stoke-on-Trent and the wider region, saying:
“With more motorists making the switch to an electric vehicle, we need to encourage visitors into our urban centres and having accessible public EV charging for residents, businesses and visitors can help to achieve this.”
North West EV Owners, one of the largest communities of EV drivers in Staffordshire and the wider North West also commented on the initiative, saying:
“NorthWest EV Owners are proud to support initiatives like this. It’s fantastic to see a charging network being so proactive in expanding infrastructure across some excellent locations while also keeping pricing competitive for EV drivers.
They added:
“RAW Charging has shown a real commitment to growing reliable rapid charging hubs in areas that genuinely benefit the EV community. As EV adoption continues to grow across the North West and the UK, collaborations like this between charging providers and owner communities are incredibly positive for drivers.”
Drivers will be able to access the Stoke-on-Trent Day charging offer & Costa Coffee £5 voucher at Etruria Mills on Friday 5th June via RAW Rewards.
